As an n-type semiconductor,cadmium oxide(CdO)is widely used in electrooptical devices,such as light emitting diodes,transparent conductive oxides,photocatalytic due to its special physical and chemical properties.As a kind of photoelectrical material,cadmium oxide has been of substantial interest as the increasing demand of clean energy and sustainable energy.The synthesis and application of nano cadmium oxide is still an important aspect to be addressed.Firstly,cadmium oxide with sphere and polyhedral morphology were synthesized by solid-state grinding method.The products were characterized by X-ray powder diffractometer(XRD),Field emission scanning electron microscopy(SEM),High-resolution transmission electron microscope(HRTEM),specific surface area analysis instrument(BET),Fourier transform infrared spectra(FTIR).The antibacterial activity of the products had been evaluated by thermal activity monitor air isothermal calorimeter.The results show that the products have high antibacterial activities,and the product with sphere morphology presents better antibacterial property than that with polyhedron morphology.Secondly,nano cadmium oxide with hexagonal dish morphology was synthesized via solvothermal approach.The obtained CdO as used as reactant to prepare CdOCdS heterostructure product.The photocatalytic property of the heterostructured CdO-CdS was evaluated by taking potassium bichromate(K2Cr2O7)and methylene blue(MB)as target degradation object.The results show that the product has high photocatalytic activity to K2Cr2O7 and MB.Thirdly,the cadmium oxide nanoparticles doped by silver,zinc and copper,were synthesized via sol-gel method,respectively,and the characterization of their antibacterial activities were tested by thermal activity monitor air isothermal calorimeter.The results show that the products have high antibacterial activities,and the antibacterial activity in order of the products is: Ag-CdO > Cu-CdO > Zn-CdO > pure CdO.
