| China’s kaolin mineral resources are facing the depletion of high-quality resources,while the development and utilization of resources with high content of impurities,and complex physical and chemical properties also face the problems of high cost,serious environmental pollution and other issues.The current magnetic separation method of kaolin quality improvement has the advantages of simple process,low cost and small environmental impact.Electromagnetic periodic high gradient magnetic separator as the core equipment for the processing of kaolin ore by magnetic separation,its reliability,stability and economy directly determine the application of magnetic separation in kaolin quality reduction and reduction industry.However,there are still a series of problems in the industrial application of domestic electromagnetic periodic high gradient magnetic separator.It is very important to study the characteristics of sorting flow field and find out the root of the problem and optimize the performance of the equipment.Based on electromagnetic cycle type high gradient magnetic separator flow field characteristics and research the topic respectively to carry out the kaolin slurry suspension property analysis,the matrix composed of the steel wool medium damping characteristics research,laboratory electromagnetic cycle type high gradient magnetic separator separation flow field simulation test and research,various influence factors of flow field distribution characteristics analysis and The experimental study of the effect of the distribution of the flow field on the trapping of weak magnetic particles in the matrix,etc.The analysis of the simulation experiment and the influence factors were analyzed:(1)The slurry suspension is mainly composed of axial seepage in the matrix,less of radial diffusion.(2)The flow field has good symmetry.(3)According to the distribution of radial velocity,the matrix is divided into the diffusion zone,the transition zone,the separation zone,the transition zone and the aggregation area.The diffusion zone and the aggregation area have a large radial velocity,the velocity difference between the middle and the edge of the matrix is remarkable.In the middle area,the flow rate is high and the pulp flow is large.In the marginal area,the porous flow rate is small and only a small amount of pulp is passed.The radial velocity of the transition zone is relatively small,and the difference between the middle area and the marginal area is decreasing.The radial velocity of the separation is negligible,and the regions are basically kept at the apparent seepage velocity.(4)The structural factors and operation factors have a large effect on the distribution of flow field,which respectively by the enlargement and shrinkage ratio of tank,the apparent seepage velocity of the pulp is most significantly,Big sudden enlargement ratio and high apparent seepage velocity are bad for the uniform distribution of pulp in the matrix.The research of the matrix capturing weak magnetic particles verifies the rule of the flow field distribution.It also shows that different seepage field has a significant influence on the weak magnetic particle trapped.The structure of tank causes that the ability of the matrix in diffusion zone capturing weak magnetic particles to be weak and solid particles are easy to subside in concentrated zone.Under the condition of high apparent seepage velocity,the effective capture area and the capture ability of the matrix decrease. |
