PET films of 12?25?m thickness were irradiated with Kr ions(kinetic energy 25MeV·u-1,fluence 2×105 ions·cm-2?1×106 ions·cm-2?1.5×107 ions?cm-2 and 5×107 ions·cm-2)at room temperature under vacuum at the Heavy Ion Research Facility?HIRFL?in Lanzhou.Fabricating the nuclear track membrane?NTM?of different pore size and shape.Investigate pore size measurement method for NTM and evaluate the filtration performance of NTM with various pore sizes and shapes.Comparing the filtering flux and membrane fouling by using Yellow-river water between the double-cone shape and regular, cylindrical shape in the experiment.Filtering flux through simulation by ANSYS Fluent and the water test results are also compared.Experimental results show that bubble point method is suitable for pore size less than 1 ?m,with an error ratio less than 5%,whilst the optical microscope is suitable for pore of cylindrical shape or large size?more than 3?m?with an error ratio less than 10%.The flux of double-cone shape NTM is significantly 5 times higher than that of cylindrical shape. The NTM of double-cone shape demonstrated good anti-polluting and the simple purging method. It was found that NTM with inner pore size of 450nm can effectively separate bacteria by an average of 99.90%?particle counter?in raw water.
