The conveyor belt is key component of belt conveyor for traction and carring,which has the advantages of large capacity,long distance transportation,low energy consumption and so on.It has been widely used in coal,mining,port,metallurgy,chemical,electric power and other fields.Due to the scratch of waste steel or coal gangue and other foreign bodies,improper installation of conveyor belt,the non-uniform load on conveyor belt,and other reasons,the conveyor belt in the running process often produce longitudinal rip.The longitudinal rip is sudden and covert,and the effective monitoring technology is a worldwide problem.Due to the lack of timely detection,longitudinal rip has occurred now and then,causing the loss of transportation of materials,equipment damage and casualties.So the longitudinal rip seriously affects the safety in production.Aiming at the shortcomings of poor real-time performance and poor stability of the traditional detection device based on machine vision for conveyor belt longitudinal rip,this thesis studied the detection methods of longitudinal rip based on machine vision,and proposed a design scheme of longitudinal rip monitoring system for mine conveyor belt based on Wi-Fi.By line laser stripe projecting on the bottom surface of conveyor belt,embedded processing terminal S3C2440 controls the plane array CMOS camera to grab image for image processing and analysis.When a longitudinal rip is detected,the images and alarm signals of the longitudinal rip will be sent to the monitoring and control software of the PC computer and the monitoring and control softwar of the mobile phone to be displayed via Wi-Fi.The hardware of embedded processing terminal based on S3C2440 microprocessor,the software of embedded processing terminal and the failure detection algorithm based on C,the longitudinal rip monitoring and control software of the PC computer based on C#and control software of the mobile phone based on JAVA were designed.The longitudinal rip monitoring and control system of the conveyor belt based on Wi-Fi was tested in the laboratory.The test results show that the system realizes conveyor belt image rapid acquisition,real-time processing,remote video transmission and display and realizes the function of on-line automatic detction of longitudinal rip fault.The longitudinal rip monitoring and control system based on Wi-Fi can accurately detect the longitudinal rip of conveyor belt,improve the real-time detection of longitudinal rip and reduce the cabling.On-site alarm,PC monitoring software alarm and mobile monitoring software alarm greatly improve the efficiency of field staffs to acquire the fault information.The system can avoid the longitudinal rip accident,equipment damage,machine halt and casualties,reduce the losses of transport materials and economic.Thus,it has significant economic and social benefits and extensive application value in coal,mining,port,metallurgy,chemical,electric power and other fields.
