With the rapid development of the society and increasing prosperity of the automotive industry,China's total car ownership and per capita ownership continue to rise.Vehicles which use fossil fuel still accounts for the vast majority.The increasing car ownership makes China's environmental pollution and energy crisis more severe.To solve the problem,it is very important to find a alternative fuel for gasoline.Butanol is similar to gasoline in physical and chemical properties,and is a very suitable alternative fuel.This article studies the influence of butanol-gasoline blends(0%?25%?50%?75%?100%)on the combustion performance.This article also explore the impacts of butanol-gasoline blends,with different blending ratio,on the peak thermodynamic parameters under different boundary conditions.First,combustion experiments of butanol-gasoline blends with different blending ratio were carried out under a selected boundary conditions: initial temperature 523 K,initial pressure 1.2 MPa,excess air coefficient 1.2.The result shows that with the increase of butanol blending ratio,the combustion time of fuel becomes longer and the peak pressure,peak temperature and peak heat release increase.Then series of combustion experiments of butanol-gasoline blends with different blending ratio were carried out under different boundary conditions.The results show that with the increase of the initial medium temperature,the combustion peak temperature,the peak pressure and the peak heat release of the five fuels increased,and the combustion duration was stretched;With the initial pressure increasing,the combustion peak temperature,peak pressure and peak heat release of the five fuels increased,and the combustion duration was shortened;With the increase of the excess air coefficient,The combustion peak temperature,the peak pressure and the peak heat release of the five fuels are all reduced and the combustion duration is longer.Finally,a combustion calculation model of the constant volume combustion bomb was established by AVL Fire,and the accuracy of the model was verified by the experimental data of actual combustion.The model was used to simulate the combustion experiment with extended boundary conditions.The simulation results show that the influence of butanol-gasoline on the combustion feature is the same with the result which is carried out on the constant volume combustion bomb.
