While nuclear power is developing rapidly in this country, seismic performance of nuclear power equipment should be considered with caution as well. Expanding from the earthquake-resistance level of nuclear power facilities in this paper, the emergency diesel generator for nuclear power was taken as seismic appraisal object of study, detailed introduction the seismic method of nuclear power equipment, which have a profound significance to China's nuclear power development with safety and efficiency. according to the relevant nuclear safety regulations, nuclear power emergency diesel generating units belonging to the seismic class I equipment need to conduct seismic identification, in order to ensure its safety function can fulfill both at the earthquake occurrence time and after the earthquake action.In this paper, the seismic calculation analysis on the generator with the help of finite element analysis software ANSYS, Analysis includes modal analysis under dead and response spectrum analysis under seismic load,the maximum stress in components and the stress check for joint bolts between diesel generator and earthquake. Calculation analysis results show that the unit deformation and stress under earthquake load is far less than the design requirements of the deformation and stress of the bolt stress is far less than the allowable stress. The unit can meet the aseismic requirements.Meanwhile, the unit adopts the seismic test analysis.The test consists of the dynamic characteristics of the exploration test,5 times operating basis earthquake and1 time safe shutdown earthquake. The test results show that the units in each experiment during and after the completion of the machine parts have no obvious loss,and can run normally, can meet the seismic requirements.Finally, compared the difference between the aseismic calculation analysis and test of the unit analysis, evaluate the two methods. The unit under earthquake loading or after earthquake loading can meet the demand of structural integrity and functional integrity. which leads to the conclusion that the unit can meet the requirements for seismic performance.
