With the gradual implementation of the national grid-to-grid transmission strategy, the scale of the interconnected power system is expanding day by day.The low-frequency oscillation problem caused by the interconnection has become one of the main factors of the safe operation of the power grid and the transmission capacity.Damping control based on the local signal PS S can be a good damping between the units within the region of oscillation, with the FACTS equipment in the power system is widely used,SVC with additional damping controller to suppress low-frequency oscillation has a very good role.In this paper, firstly, the principle of low frequency oscillation of PSS and SVC is analyzed, the appropriate PSS parameters are set,SVC is used to suppress the low frequency oscillation of the power system, and the appropriate wide-area Measurement signal, the best place to install and compensation capacity to determine, use Lambert W function solve the problem of wide-area measurement signal transmission delay. The auxiliary control system with PSS and SVC with additional damping controller is established by using MATLAB.The model of the double-machine power system is established to simulate the single-phase short-circuit fault and three-phase short circuit of the double-machine system with PSS and SVC additional damping controller. The stability of the power system is analyzed, and the influence of the low frequency oscillation of the power system on the stability of the power system when the PSS and SVC are present is analyzed.By analyzing the simulation waveforms,it is possible to determine the effectiveness of PSS and SVC to suppress the low frequency oscillation of the interconnected power system.
