A Preliminary Study Of Xinjialiang Fufang Against Gastric Cancer

Gastric cancer is one of the most common malignancies in China. Epidemiological survey shows that the nationwide incidence and mortality of gastric cancer are in the second and third place in all malignancies,however,its incidence and mortality are at the top in rural areas. Adanced gastric cancer is an incurable disease at present,but limited lesions of gastric cancer can be treated by radical resection; the target of palliative care like chemotherapy is improve clinical symptoms and life quality, prolong survival period. Long-term clinical practice proves that Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) in the treatment of gastric tumor has obvious advantages,which is based on correct understanding of etiology and pathogenesis in TCM and syndrome differentiation and treatment. Most current literature thought gastric cancer is caused by factors such as spleen-deficiency, phlegm stagnation,blood stasis, cancer toxin, sentiment and diet lead to internal organs disorders and pathogenic factor cumulated in stomach;its TCM syndrome is deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality which spleen-deficiency,stomach-deficiency and kidney-deficiency as the primary and diet, phlegm stagnation,blood stasis, cancer toxin, Qi stagnation and turbid dampness as the secondary in TCM; the syndrome of excess is easily found in early gastric cancer while mixture of deficiency and excess syndrome in adanced gastric cancer.We found occurrence and development of gastric cancer is closely bound up with pathogenic cold. Based on this opinion, Professor Chen protocol Modified Liang-Fu Formula(MLFF) to treat gastric cancer, especially adanced gastric cancer,and further research on theory, effect mechanism and clinical observation.MLFF is consist of Liangfu Pills and Dioscorea nipponica, which can warming middle-jiao to dispel cold, regulating qi dissipate phlegm and activating blood analgesia. MLFF is a good formula to treat gastric cancer which is caused by spleen-yang deficiency and internal and external cold evil intertwined lead to blood stasis due to cold, qi activity blocked and pathogenic factor cumulated in stomach,and its symptoms and signs are cold chills, stomach pain which aggravating by cold and alleviating by warm, lump at stomach, abdominal distension and pain, asthenia and inappetence, belching, emesis, emaciation,and purple or dim tongue, thready and unsmooth pulse or deep and slow pulse,and so on.Researchs show that MLFF can inhibit tumor growth,induce tumor cell apoptosis, anti-angiogenesis and other antitumor effect mechanisms. Moreover,preliminary clinical observation shows that MLFF has good clinical curative effect for advanced gastric cancer.Based on the previous studies and ascites is common in the advanced gastric cancer patients, as you know,2011NCCN Gastric Cancer Clinical Practice Guidelines Chinese version also pointed out that China has a large number of gastric cancer patients had ascites with newly diagnosed,so we did some research.Objective:To observe the effects of Modified Liang-Fu Granules(MLFG) on survival period of S180tumor bearing mice in order to provide basis for further clinical research and experimental study.Methods:The establishment of S180ascites tumor model by intraperitoneal injection S180tumor cells,which were administrated by MLFG in high, medium, low doses and combined with5-fluorouracil(5-FU) respectively, then observing the effect of MLFG on survival period and life-prolonging rate of S180tumor bearing mice. Results:The life-prolonging rate of MLFG in high dose group and MLFG in low, medium, high doses combined with5-FU group was28.25%,46.33%,59.89%,70.06%respectively; Compared with the model control group, there were statistically significant (P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusion:MLFG could prolong the survival period of S180tumor bearing mice, and the different-dose of MLFG combined with5-FU could prolong the survival time of S180tumor bearing mice significantly.In conclusion,MLFF is good at treating tumor,especially gastric cancer,through various mechanisms,improving clinical symptoms and life quality, and prolonging survival period;and it can efficacy enhancing and toxicity reducing in chemotherapy,then it is indispensable in comprehensive treatment. This paper elaborates on composing prescriptions, clinical research,anti-tumor effect mechanism and prospect of MLFF, and order to provide an experimental foundation for further study of the antitumor effect and clinical application of MLFF.
