Clinical Observation Of Sijunzi Decoction And Shashen Maidong Decoction On Prevention And Treatment Of Head And Neck Malignant Tumors With Qi And Yin Deficiency Type Radioactive Salivary Gland Injury

Objective: Recent clinical efficacy and its advantages in preventing and treating the Radioactive Salivary Glands Damage of Head and Neck Cancer by taking Sijunzi Decoction combined with Straight ladybell dwarf lilyturf Decoction.Methods: Screening out 54 cases of Head and Neck Cancer patients who were treated with radiotherapy,randomly divided them into two groups: the treatment group(treated with radiation therapy combining with traditional Chinese medicine by taking Sijunzi Decoction combined with Straight ladybell dwarf lilyturf Decoction,until the completion of observation)and the control group(only treated with radiation therapy).Both groups were treated with normal saline when appeared radioactive salivary glands.According to the changes of Chinese clinical symptoms,quality of life,body weight,salivary glands radiation reaction,resting saliva flow rates and saliva pH,and evaluate the effects of treatment.Results:1.Aspects of Chinese clinical symptom and quality of life.In the aspects of clinical symptoms,differences between the treatment group and the control group have significance under and after treatment(P < 0.05).After treatment,the scores of the control group decrease and the differences have significance(P < 0.05),but the control group is on the contrary,and the differences between groups have significance(P < 0.05).In terms of quality of life,the QOL and KPS scores increased after treatment,and differences in the treatment group have significance(P <0.05).But the control group is on the contrary.After treatment,the differences between groups have significance(P < 0.05),which suggests the QOL,KPS scores and the evaluation of KPS scores in the treatment group are better than the control group.2.Aspects of salivary glands radiation reaction.After three weeks’ treatment,the salivary glands radiation reactions between two groups have no difference.After completion of treatment,the salivary glands radiation reaction of treatment group was lower than the control group,which suggests the curative effect in the treatment group are better than the control group.3.Aspects of resting salivary glands radiation reaction and saliva pH.During radiotherapy,the resting saliva flow rates between two groups have no difference.After completion of treatment,the differences in the resting saliva flow rates of groups were statistically significant(P< 0.05).Before and after treatment,the resting saliva flow rates in the control group decreased more obvious.The saliva p H of two groups decreased after radiotherapy and the differences have significance.4.Aspects of body weight.Before and after treatment,body weight in the control group decreased,and there was statistically significant difference(P < 0.05),the treatment group without significant changes in body weight(P > 0.05).And the differences between two groups have significance(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Sijunzi Decoction combined with Straight ladybell dwarf lilyturf Decoction in preventing and treating the radioactive salivary glands damage of Head and Neck Cancer has definite clinical efficacy,can effectively improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life,alleviate salivary glands radiation reaction and resting saliva flow rates ranges.It can be further extended in patients with radioactive salivary glands.
