According to the brain image study technique and the different involvement depth of self, Zhuying have divided the study of self into3parts:1.the perception self2.the thinking self3.the memory self. The uniqueness of time estimation for the perception self and thinking self have already studied. But the uniqueness of time estimation for the memory self have never explored, so the purpose of the present study is to explored the uniqueness of the time estimation of the memory self----autobiographical memory.Lewis(2003) have found there exist two mechanism for time estimation:automatic process and cognitive control process. For shallow process time estimation always activate automatic process, Meanwhile for deep process time estimation activate cognitive control process. We use the TMS technique to explore the neural mechanism of the autobiographical memory.Behavior experiment has taken positive and negative news pictures as stimulus.the aim of the experiment is to explore the uniqueness of the time estimation for autobiographical memory. There are three parts for the experiment. The first part is to ask participants to perform three different kinds of memories according to the instrument of the experiment. The second part is to ask participants to estimate the time they finish the first part tasks. The third part is to ask participant judge what kind of memory according to the picture they have perform in the first part of the experiment. The result shows that the recognition rate is the same as the previous study:autobiographical memory is significant higher than social memory and episodic memory. The estimation rate is that all three kinds of memories were underestimated. The autobiographical memory is the highest and significant higher than social memory estimation rate and episodic estimation rate. But the estimation rate difference between social memory and episodic memory is not significant. In the TMS experiment, in order to explore the uniqueness of the estimation of autobiographical memory. We inhibit the autobiographical memory brain region and the time estimation brain region. Liuxueqing(2009)use ALE meta-analysis find that in the task of autobiographical memory, right superior frontal gyrus activated the highest.Martin(2010) use ALE meta-analysis find that in the task of long distance time estimation, right inferior frontal gyrus activated the highset. The result shows that compare to the behavior study when inhibit the autobiographical memory brain region right superior frontal gyrus, the uniqueness of the autobiographical memory is vanished, whereas when inhibit the long-distance time estimation brain region right inferior frontal gyrus there still exist the uniqueness of the autobiographical memory. This study use different kinds of memory time estimation as the starting point to explore the uniqueness of the time estimation for the autobiographical memory, filled the blank of the time estimation of the autobiographical memory.
