The Chinese ceramic arts has a time-honored history, in which the most famous one is the work made in Jingdezhen area. Ceramic painting skill has been constantly improving and updating and reached an unprecedented level during the Qing Dynasty, marking an advance comparing with that in the former dynasty. Artists in the Qing Dynasty changed the traditional ceramic decoration from a pure form of art into a branch in modern painting. Ceramic and painting masters combined the charm of Shallow drop color literati painting and the delicacy of traditional famille rose, thus created the The new porcelain powder consisting of poem,calligraphy, drawing and seal, forming the Modern famille rose porcelain painting art, a new form having the same color with paintings in the Republic of China period. Take Wang Qi for example, one of the “eight friends of zhushan”, for his work closes people's real life and reflects social features, he became the ceramic and painting master who has the highest achievement among the “eight friends of zhushan”. This thesis describes Wangqi, who combined ceramic arts with Chinese painting, thus created work with the charm of ceramic and painting, promoting the development of Chinese painting. His experience impels modern artists to be innovative and learn foreign cultural essence for further use on the basis of inheriting Chinese tradition and create work with more brilliance and Chinese color.This thesis consists of five chapters: the first one is the exploration of ceramic and painting arts,mainly describes the emergence, development of ceramic and painting arts as well as the inheritance and innovation of modern ceramic and painting arts; the second one portrays the background and personal factor of Wang Qi's success; the third one describes the feature of his work and its evolution in detail; the forth one is the appreciation of Wang Qi's ceramic and painting figure painting; the fifth one depicts Wang Qi's influence over the development of modern for Ceramic figure painting.
