The papers mainly describes the historical development of Putian woodcarving, wood carving its own creation for the direction of the main discourse. Through a three-month in-depth study and practice in the local Putian, Putian woodcarving field visits, interviews with traditional woodcarvers, and art for the post-dialogue and discussion, to obtain first-hand information on Putian carvings. Combined with its local wood carving in Putian learning, to explore the relationship between creation and Putian own graduation carvings. Putian carvings on how to learn, how to treat the problem of the traditional woodcarving were thinking.
