Caspar David Friedrich(Caspar David Friedrich,1774-1840)is an important representative figure of the German romanticism painting.His paintings creation is not detailed describe and record the nature,but is very subjective to gown up in and the feelings of nature has created,he highly subjective emotional experience,with a kind of metaphor technique to express a kind of religious meaning of extraordinary.In the early 19 th century German romanticism,the status of the landscape has changed a lot,scenery is no longer is a monumental painting objects,but as the romantic period in painting artists eager to find individual performance in a strong way.Landscape painting as an important theme in the German romantic period become directly to purify people’s hearts,because of this reason,subjects in the painting appear insignificant,began to highlight the subjectivity.His painting is to promote religious to painting,this upgrade is not similar religious paintings that appeared in the service of religion and communication,but it was the artist’s strong faith and the feelings of loneliness,make real expressed his heart like.By understanding the painter friedrich,this article tries to analyze each one in his paintings "props" implied meaning,interpretation art image and symbolic significance,the article will make a comparison between Chinese and western landscape painting and contemporary art,it is concluded that the painter painting,significance for today’s emphasis on painting the role of symbolic and emotional in today’s painting,and on the way of their own artistic creation for better enlightenment.
