Exploring The Collision Of Music And Poetry In Edward McDowell's Early Piano Works

In nineteenth Century,the United States,the most outstanding musicians when the number of Mcdowell.Edward Mcdowell(MacDowell Edward,1861～1908),also has the Chinese translation for Mcdowell.Bom in December 18,1861 in New York,as early as childhood,there are outstanding music and art talent.Created lots of piano works in his lifetime,including his early piano works "four little poem" op.32 clever would be a perfect fusion of poetry and music,expand our understanding for music works itself at the same time improve our literary accomplishment.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter gives a brief introduction to Mcdowell,starting from his life experience and background,we make thorough knowledge and understanding of Mcdowell’s creation background;the second chapter describes the characteristics of the style of music creation,combed the concept of his music and piano works,he emphasizes on creation,pay attention to the traditional emphasis on past,rather than creating the future;the third chapter is the key chapter,explores the impact of poetry and music four "poem" in Op.32,expounds the similarities and differences between music and literature,and the poetry and music are interpreted,and finally discusses the impact of poetry and music the first work;the fourth chapter respectively from the aspects of music,rhythm,sound and other decorative terms to discuss how to carry out the performance and teaching work.
