| Avoidantly attached individuals inhibit their needs for intimacy, which often causes some problems in the term of human close relationship. It is a dot probe paradigm based on vocabulary material as instrument to check the supraliminal presence in the Experiment 1 and subliminal presence in the Experiment 2.After questionnaire survey of 300 university students with Experience in Close Relationship, from whom 20 secure attached individuals and 20 avoidantly attached individuals were selected as subjects. It was adopted mixed experimental design of multi-factors: 2 (attachment types:secure, avoidant) x 4 (vocabulary types:distance words, proximity word, general positive and negative words) x 2 (consistency:consistence and inconsistence). This study is adopted a dot probe detection paradigm, in which paradigm task requires subjects to respond to stars location of probe point on the button of "up or down" after the stimulation disappearance from words pair.Results:(1) Under the same condition of supraliminal experiment, the avoidantly attached individuals’ average reaction time of distance words is significantly slower than that of the in-congruence, showing the characteristics of avoidance; (2) Under the same condition of the supraliminal experiment, avoidantly attached individuals’ time of reaction to distance words is significantly slower than that of the general positive words, negative words and proximity words, suggesting the characters of attention bias to distance words. (3) Under the same condition of the subliminal experiment, the average reaction time for generally positive words is significantly faster than that of incongruence, showing the characteristics of alert; (4) Under the same condition of the subliminal experiment, the average reaction time for generally positive words is significantly faster than that of distance words.Conclusion:(1) Under the condition of conscious processing, avoidantly attached individuals have attention bias to avoid attachment negative stimulus, which means attachment individuals’ attention bias possibly make use of the attachment strategy of deactivation. (2) Under the condition of the unconscious processing, avoidantly attached individuals have no attention bias to distance words, which indicates that attachment strategy of deactivation needs cognitive resources. The attachment strategy of deactivation will be restrained in the case of a few cognitive participation. |
