Academic boredom is conceived of as a boredom emotion that felt in academic situations. This project explored the concept and structure of higher vocational college students'academic boredom. In addition, we investigated the relationship of academic boredom and self-determined motivation.We investigated 619 vocational college students'academic boredom and self-determined motivation from Nanjing Engineering Vocational College, using Academic Boredom Questionnaire for Higher Vocational College Students and Academic Self-Regualtion Questionnaire which written by Ryan&Connell. There are main conclusions:1. The Academic Boredom Questionnaire for Higher Vocational College Students has good consistency reliability and a factor structure consistent with the theory which has five factors including lacking motivation, teacher factor, lacking autonomy, environment factor and lacking resistance.2. The levels of the academic boredom are higher than generally median. The academic boredom have statistically significant difference in grade, whether serving as student leaders and achievements.3. The levels of self-determined are lower than generally median, external regulation is the primary form of motivation among vocational college students, which have statistically significant difference in grade, whether serving as student leaders and achievements.4. There are statistically significant correlations between academic boredom and self-determined motivation. The results indicated that self-determined motivation can predict the level of academic boredom. External regulation can positive predict the level of academic boredom, while autonomous motivation can negative predict.
