Vincent van Gogh,a mad genius artist,is always attached to the explorers of the oil painting techniques.He is one of the most influential master of today's international art world.Van Gogh's painting techniques is novel and unique.We can also find his unique understanding about the concept of painting from his letters with friends and his brother.His works' color is bright and beautiful,full of rich natural and cultural atmosphere.This style is largely influenced by the spread of Ukiyoe prints of the European.This effect is mainly concentrated in the unique space of Ukiyoe prints,asymmetrical composition as well as the bright colors.The author demonstrated the effect by comparing some later works of Van Gogh with Ukiyoe.And Van Gogh also has a profound and lasting impact on the author,from the initial confusion,to appreciation,then to resonating with it,and finally caught up in the kingdom of color.By copying parts of Van Gogh's later works,my creative style is becoming more and more free.After gradually absorbed Van Gogh's concept of creation,I also had a try to make my own creation,this experience is wonderful and magicalThis paper mainly focus on Van Gogh's later works affected by japanese Ukiyoe.I have also read a lot of letters of him.These works and letters affected my oil painting a lot.This paper made it clear through the analysis of the following four chapters.The Introduction untangles the background,purpose,meaning,status,methods of this research.The first chapter introduces the Japanese Ukiyoe art,as well as the "Japanese" spread in Europe.This chapter also discusses the method of Ukiyoe's composition,color and the formation of the picture form.The second chapter and the third chapter are important.The second chapter introduces how Van Gogh influenced by Japanese Ukiyoe.There are three major changes when he met with Ukiyoe.It is the bright color,picture composition affect Van Gogh's later work style.The bright colour also affect Van Gogh's mind.The third chapter describes his later works' influence on my oil painting creation.
