Being 300 Poems of the Tang Dynasty published for over more than 300 years.But its influence is still increasing on Chinese literature.In recent years,people pay more and more attention to the development of excellent traditional culture.Under the background,many schools have chosen the book as an important reading for children and teenagers.The thesis is in order to find the book’s current significance from exploring the value of youth education in ancient times and as the anthology itself.The introduction classifies the research results about the book,so as to illustrate the significance of this study and research methods.The main body of the thesis consists of the following four parts:The first part: Sun Zhu and his compilation.This part mainly introduces Sun Zhu and the purpose of his compilation.Firstly,Sun Zhu’s life is combed to discuss his official position;the love to people;the study to pomes of Du Fu,the good rule;the responsibility of educating the students.Secondly,the purpose of his compilation is for an entry-level reader which is to guide students to learn to write poems for the exam,from the aspects which are the preface,the poetic influence,the imperial examination system and Sun Zhu’s official position.The second part: the value of as the reading of the imperial examination.This part mainly is to discuss this book achieves its value as a reading guiding the examinees in the imperial examination basically by finding out its poems mostly fit the requirement of the examination system at that time from the oblique tones,the antithesis,the structure and the rhymes.The third part: the historical location of the reading as a Tang poetry anthology.This part mainly aims at the value as a Tang poetry anthology and its standard of poems.Firstly,this part discusses it mostly conforms to the law and can demonstrate the public to identify with its value as a Tang poetry anthology through the analysis of the reading.Secondly,this part discusses the standard of selecting poems is the reason why it can realize the double value which is a reading of Tang poetry anthology for the imperial examination based on the 26 poems which Tang Poetry ranking has but Being 300 Poems of the Tang Dynasty hasn’t and 27 poems which Being 300 Poems of the Tang Dynasty has but the other Tang poetry anthology hasn’t.The fourth part: the times value of the book.This part discusses the significance today which sums up the times value of the literature and the traditional culture.
