| In the rapid development of society,a variety of career and achievements in an endless stream and the employment situation is incresingly grim.How to guide students to adapt to new social demands in learning employment ideas,knowledge and skills as well as ready as soon as possible,to help high school students to explore their own occupation and development of life education and employent direction before graduation,for further education and employment make full and necessary preparation,is an important topic in the field of career education.Based on the SCCT,This thesis explores the influence of personality,career decision-making self-efficacy and career interest on career exploration in high school students of different gender and region.At the same time,we also examine the mediating effect of career decision self-efficacy and career interest on the relationship between personality and career exploration.This research tested 704 high school from Hongkong,Zhejiang and Shanghai,who were enrolled in 2012 as Senior One students.Students completed the Cross-cultural [Chinese] Personality Assessment Inventory in Grade 10,as well as some basic personal information.In Grade 11,Students completed the career decision-making self-efficacy short-version scale and the self-directed search.Finally,self-developed career exploration scale were completed In Grade 12.This research used MANOVA to analyze the differences in personality,career decision-making self-efficacy,career interests and career exploration according to their different gender and area.SEM was used to examine influence of personality,career decision-making self-efficacy and career interest to career exploration.Bootstrap was used to examine the mediating effect of career decision self-efficacy and career interest on the relationship between personality and career exploration.Results were as follows:(1)High school students of different gender and area show significant differences in the scores marked in personality,career decision self-efficacy,career interests and career exploration;(2)Personality,career decision self-efficacy and career interests were significant predictor of career exploration for high school students.(3)Career decision self-efficacy play a mediated role betweenpersonality and career exploration.Besides,career decision self-efficacy and career interests play a chain mediated role between personality and career exploration.This study has some implications for exploring the influencing factors of the career exploration of senior high school students,and can also provide some help and suggestions for the developent of high school students’ career guidance. |
