The function and purpose of scriptures is writing and recording of Buddhist scriptures,but in the history of Chinese calligraphy,the position of calligraphy from this unique form can not be ignored,such as the Dunhuang manuscripts.Since Dali's manuscripts were founded,Mr Fei Xiaotong said: "North Dunhuang,south Dali",the research value of Dali's manuscripts is no less than Dunhuang Sutra,has its unique aesthetic value,the current research on Dali's writings on domestic scholars mostly focus on its historical value and literature value,there was not a systematic study on the aesthetic value of calligraphy.This paper analyzes from Dali's cultural background and the sutra's form and content,combining the Central Plain's writting style,compared to pen features,style of calligraphy Sutra in Dali in structure and composition characteristics of the three aspects,explore the causes of Dali's writing style arrangement,and try to summarized its artistic value,and put forward to the contemporary calligraphy creation inspiration in Yunnan.Although there is a certain gap between the country and the classical aesthetic value of Dali Sutra calligraphy works,but its unique artistic value has its unique significance,and hope that through this research contribution to the Sutra calligraphy style and calligraphy research a little humble.
