Old Tangshu is one of the basic historical data of Tang dynasty.Music History in Old Tangshu keeps a lot of basic historical data about musical etiquette and lyrics in Tang Dynasty.However,the majority of scholars study New Tangshu and they were no longer studying Old Tangshu after New Tangshu was finished in Song Dynasty so that the old one was circulated hardly.Thses error and other error which was engendered in the process of writing Old Tangshu hurriedly affect scholars to use Old Tangshu to study the history of Tang Dynasty.So many scholars collated Old Tangshu and they have achieved results since Qing Dynasty.Version punctuated and collated by Chinese Publishing house is famous in these results.However,these results have many problems.they choose improper version,their collating regulations are unclear,and their collatings aren't perfect.Many scholars don't pay attention to Music History in Old Tangshu so that there is little result in collating that.This page will choose good version to be collating version and choose many versions to join collating carefully,and this page will contrast the difference between these versions and also contrast the difference between Old Tangshu and another books.This page will collate more carefully in the base of predecessor's results.At first,this page discuss the process of writing Old Tangshu.Then this page researches the source of historical materials of Old Tangshu.In the base of that,this page introduce all versions of Old Tangshu's which are persisted now.Especially,this page introduce transcript which was transcribed by Siyatang in Ming Dynasty which wasn't known by many scholars.Secondly,this page narrate scholars' version studying and collating results after Qing Dynasty.This page praise some of them and point out their fault in the same time.Then,in base of predecessors' collating achievement especially Collating Notes To Old Tangshu's and Collating Notes To Baina version Old Tangshu's,this page collate Music History in Old Tangshu overall,systematically and detailedly according to Old Tangshu's versions and some other books: Yuefu Shiji,Tangwencui,and especially Datang jiaosilu which wasn't used well by predecessors.In the end,in the base of studying Music History in Old Tangshu carefully,there is a Jiaohou note in the end of this page which hackle the music's names,authors,lyrics and so on which were used to sacrifice emperors in Tang Dynasty according to some books: Old Tangshu,Tang Huiyao,Datang Jiaosilu and Yuefu Shiji.This Jiaohou note collects and collates some sacrifice music in Tang Dynasty which aren't saw in Music History in Old Tangshu but recorded in other books: Yuefu Shiji and Datang Jiaosilu.
