The Sad Narrative Of Poetic Images

Lou Ye,as one of the representatives of the sixth generation of directors,is committed to the pursuit of truth,and his film works were deeply affected by the Italian realism.Lou Ye just has directed a total of nine works,not so many,from the earliest Weekend Lover to the latest Massage.In an increasingly commercialized creative environment,he always adheres to his unique creative style,and pays attention to the marginal groups lived in the edge of urban,focusing on and exploring their spiritual world to restore their most real lives.His films were not released a lot at home,and the box office was also unsatisfactory because of the film review system,but films he directed won awards at home and abroad awards ceremonies such as the Golden Horse Award,the Berlin Film Festival and so on,indicating that his film works have been recognized by insiders of the film industry whatever at home or abroad.This article is divided into five chapters,I will take a whole study for the artistic characteristics from the theme of urban film,poetic image,tragic narrative and other aspects in the case of Lou Ye's nine film works.The first part of the thesis gives a briefly introduction for the experience of Lou Ye and the realism embodied in the film works,and finally explains the goal and significance of this paper.Chapter2 summarizes the different themes of urban feelings in Lou Ye's works from the three aspects of free urban culture,poignant love story and individual survival of the edge.Chapter3 mainly talks about the poetic nature of Lou Ye's works from the audio-visual aspects of the film,including the viewpoints of migration and the flowing screen,literary narrations and emotional musics,as well as plot symbols and imagery expressions.Chapter4 shows the documentary tragic narrative style existed in Lou Ye's works by utilizing wandering long lens realistic narrative,direct expression of the body narrative and the strong contrastive emotional narrative;Chapter4 and Chapter5 summary the real situation of the urban fringe in Lou Ye's works by describing the alienation of emotion and the anxiety of existence,the reality of the edge and the real of existence,as well as cruel situation and desperate death.
