There is a close relationship between Disease and Pre-Tang Dynasty Literature. As a disgusting thing attached with social and cultural meaning, diseases become a rhetoric and narration method used widely in Pre-Tang Dynasty literature.Bringing with the terror of death, the epidemics which is very familiar in Pre-Tang Dynasty literature destroyed the normal social life and shocked the authors' mind. The Scholars of Six Dynasties commonly developed symptoms of mineral poisoning result from eating Han Shisan.Personally, the epidemic of Shi Fa,the side effects of eating Han Shisan, can be ascribing to three aspects.Firstly, the side effects of the prescription itself.Secondly, lacks of knowledge of Six Dynasties' doctors regarding to the prophylaxis and therapy of Shi Fa.Thirdly, the misuse of Han Shisan enhances the dangerousness of eating Han Shisan and the difficulty of curing adverse reactions.Jiao Qi,an epidemic spread from Jin Dynasty to Tang Dynasty,is not Malayan filariasis, bubonic plague or beriberi.JiaQi,an illness due to the custom of eating Wu Shisan and Jin Dan during the middle ancient times,is a name shared by a series of drug—induced diseases and life-style diseases.JiaQi's major symptoms are function lesions of renal and liver caused by drug poisoning and complications of rheumatic fever and its basic pathological changes are polyneuritis and rheumatic arthritis according to modern pathology.Individual diseases such as ShiFa and JiaQi influence authors' literature creation by converting their philosophy and values and this influence can be concluded as morbid aesthetic psychology, gloomy and depressed keynote and the spiritual purport of staying out of reality and self-preservation.The disease descriptions in Pre-Tang Dynasty literature enrich themes of literature and expand the life aspects that literature could depict. The Pre-Tang Dynasty authors inherited the psychotherapy tradition from ancient witches and developed it into literary psychotherapy.Literary psychotherapy provides a way to abreact inner depression for frustrated literati and achieves good curative effects.Life is an important impetus and source of literature. Those seemingly fantastic plots in resurrection stories have a foundation of reality. There is a close connection between resurrection story and clinical comatose state. The situation that a few people awake from coma caused by trauma, toxication and disease form the pathological bases of restrictive plots. After many paraphrases and literary embellishment, the fact that patients awake from a deep coma and the morbid hallucination along with Near-death Experience convert from basically historical narrative to objective and aesthetic description and widely accepted as classic resurrection stories finally.
