Miyazawa Kenji,is a modern Japanese writer of fairy tales.In the academic circles of China and Japan,much research work has been done on Miyazawa Kenji and his works from different perspectives.However,the research on the fairy tales of Kenji from the perspective of “body theory” is still at the initial stage.This paper studies the “eyes expressions” that appear in the 43 Kenji fairy tales with the concept of “body and mind as an integrate whole” in body theory.Firstly,it studies the emotions embodied in “eye expressions” and its causes by using text analysis.Secondly,there is a research on emotion of Kenji in each period from the “eyes expression” in the fairy tales,through literature research on the author's life and works.The paper consists of five chapters.The first chapter is introduction,which includes the selection of the topic,the purpose,significance and methods of the research,previous studies and the existing problems.In the second chapter,the author analyzes the various complex emotions of “eye expressions” in the 5 periods of the author's literary creation,by investigating the texts.The result shows that,in the author's student period,the negative emotions revealed by the “eye expressions” in his works reveal including evil intentions,fear,etc.while the positive feelings includes curiosity,joy etc.And in his Tokyo period,the negative emotions include sadness,horror,etc,while the positive emotions are joy,wonder,etc.In the author's period as a teacher,negative feelings in his “eye expressions” are malevolent,scare,etc,wheres the positive emotions reflected are curiosity and cautiousness,etc.In the period when the author was in“rasuchijin”society,the negative emotions seen from his“eye expressions” are discomfort,anger,etc,while the positive emotion are optimism,attention etc.In the last period of the author,the negative emotions are discomfor,loneliness,etc,and the positive emotions are wonder,Fascinated,etc.Based on Chapter 2,Chapter 3 emphatically analyzes the emotional characteristics of Kenji in various creative periods,namely,his hatred of evil as enemy and exposure of realties in his school days,his sympathy with the weak and search for the right path in Tokyo,and his being complicated and diversified when he worked as a teacher,which was mainly embodied as his childlike innocence,his seeking for the right path and his confusion about the right direction,etc.When it came to the “rasuchijin” period,his clarification about the right path,his fearlessness of hardships and difficulty and his turning ideals into realities became the main emotional characteristics of his.And in the end,his emotional characteristics when he was bed-ridden can be generalized as fearlessness of hardships and difficulty and seeking for the right path.The fourth chapter focuses on the possible causes of the emotions.The fifth chapter summarizes the full text.
