Piano sonata is an important genre in the field of classical composers' works.Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas, which is known as "The New Testament" in the western music history, are the treasure of sonata literature. To the classical composers, sonata contains three-or-four movements. Mozart's piano sonatas typically have three movements, while Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas are highly irregular in the number of the movement. The early three piano sonatas of Beethoven all have four movements rather than the usual three movements, which shows tribute and breakthrough of Haydn's composing technique. Most of his piano sonatas are dominated by three or four movements, while only 6 piano sonatas are works of two movements. They are the 19th piano sonata Op. 49, No. 1, the 20th piano sonata (Op. 49, No. 2), the 22nd piano sonata (Op. 54), the 24th piano sonata (Op. 78), the 27th piano sonata (Op. 90),and the 32nd piano sonata (Op. 111).This essay "research of Beethoven's two-movement piano sonata" contains a two-way effort: on the one hand, the two-movement sonatas placed in the field of vision of the sonata for the overall development, finding the unique trajectory of two-movement sonatas. On the other hand, according to exploring Beethoven's two-movement piano sonatas, the writer found its aesthetic meaning of the "unity of opposites". Based on this, the framework which the writer proposed is highlighted. The whole paper is divided into two parts.
