Jiangnan Trilogy is a long narrative writing which Ge Fei spends seventeen years completing,including Renmian Taohua,Shanhe Rrmeng and Chunjin Jiangnan.Trilogy is based on a hundred years of China's historical background,individual historical circumstances and the spiritual evolution of three generations in one family and show the intellectual living dilemma in the magnificent Era.This paper tries to explore Ge Fei's deep thinking about historical introspection and reality thoughts,as well as his literary aspirations and epic character.This paper is divided into five parts.The introduction illustrates the current research status of Jiangnan Trilogy,with keeping up the traditions of Chinese history and biography literature.The first chapter summarized the creative process of the trilogy,in the view of historical narrative and also analyses the evolution of historical consciousness in Ge Fei's novels.The next chapter explain some works which assist of the defeat of family history and utopia,the century long history of the intellectuals ‘spiritual world and persevering in the historical surpassing idea.In the third chapter,I discuss the aesthetic choice take by Ge Fei in historical narrative,including two aspects: image and the metaphor,repetition and circulation.Finally,the conclusion wraps up the Ge Fei's efforts to courting across the line between histories to reality,also analyzing the privet importance of his efforts for widening the vision of the narrative art of Chinese modern literature and helping human beings to discovery new possibilities.
