The Study Of Yan Shu's Musical Thoughts

YanShu is a most famous writer in Northern Song Dynasty,he is good at seek gifted people,like FanZhongYan,OuYangXiu,HanQi and so on.As for a most important people in imperial court,he is support and participate the made of Yayue and inherit the thought of Confucian;As a literati,he is good at making the Song poetry and think highly of the entertainment of it,because of this,he became the one of the people who participate in promoting the development of the secular music.It is worth emphasizing that,he is not only inherit the thought of Confucian,but also influenced by the intersection of Confucianism,Buddhism and Taoism.YanShu pursuit the elegant style and his articles are full of rational element?We can see lots of musical instruments,dance,and The Song Dynasty acrobatics' s image in his articles which can be seen as the independent aesthetic object.There are five chapters in this thesis.It is divided into four parts.The first part is the first chapter,which expounds the significance and purpose of YanShu's music thought,the current research status of the subject and the research methods used by the author.The second part is the second chapter.It analyzes the historical background and life experience of YanShu's music thought,and expounds the subjective and objective factors of YanShu art style and music thought formation.Social unrest is inward throughout the Northern Song Dynasty society brings to economic development influence the formation of literary taste of the public interest and the civilian law under the policy,all of the YanShu music outlook on life has great influence.In addition,the author summarized YanShu's life.Although YanShu suffered relegation in his later years,but also have a wealth and smooth life.The rational harmony artistic spirit which influenced by this environment is foundation of YanShu's musical thoughts.The third part is the third chapter and the fourth chapter,which is the focus of this paper.Analyzed the music form and significance in YanShu's works,and further discusses his music thought from Confucianism and Buddha three factors,and the"secularism" tendency in his musical thought.In the third chapter,the typical musical forms in YanShu's poetry are divided into two parts,musical instruments and music and dance,and the significance of these musical images in YanShu's works is deeply analyzed.The frequent occurrence of“Sheng" "Flute" "pip" and "Se" in his poems not only showed the trend of restoring ancient times in the Northern Song Dynasty,but also reflected the phenomenon of "cultural downward movement" in this period.The appearance of the clapper image is closely related to the development of music of Songci.The word in guzheng reflects the taste of literati image in the Northern Song dynasty.The image of music,not only can reflect the elegance and vulgarity of YanShu,also can reflect the aesthetic taste of music creation and development of the Northern Song dynasty literati music and to a certain extent.In the fourth chapter,the author discussed how YanShu's Confucian and Buddhism sentiment influenced his view of"music eulogize the emperor's moral integrity",and "control the emotion by nous" in the Northern Song Dynasty which influenced by the combination of three religions.The fourth part is the fifth chapter.Summarized the historical significance of YanShu's musical thought,Choose Mei Yaochen's view of "The beauty of plain" and Song Qi's view of "Zhonghe" as an example,discusses the influence of the Song dynasty literati pursuit of YanShu music value and its practical significance.As for a most important transformation time in china,Song Dynasty presented a different form from other Dynasties,especially the music.At that time,imperial court advocated the Yayue seriously,but it declined because of the development of society.However,folk music influenced by the Yayue and be enriched by blending with it.So,a ecological environment which including the banquet,Yanyue(one part of the Sui and Tang music),Geisha,poet and custom life is form and perfect gradually.The emperor Taizong of song try his best to promote the revival of Yayue,but the Folk music still occupied the mainstream of culture.This phenomenon is affected by many factors,the literati strength can't be underestimated.“civil official system”take a special historical value to the literati group whose artistic view influence the development of Song Dynasty society.So,through the investigation of music practice of YanShu,The music history of the Song Dynasty will be more vivid and comprehensive shown to us.
