On Du Shi's "Remembrance" Tendency

This dissertation is mainly about the tendency of recall in Du Fu’s poems and will be in 4 chapters.The first chapter will discuss the mental mechanism of this tendency,which leads us to the psychological reasons of this phenomenon in Du’s poems.This chapter will be divided into 3 parts.The first part is about the gap between ideal and reality.The second part is about the decline of Tang dynasty.The last part is based on his wandering life,which cause him being apart from his family and friends.How the tendency of recall contribute to the greatest achievement of Du’s poems will be shared in Chapter 2.There are two valuable aspects deserve to be discussed.One of them is that the relationship between the tendency of recall and the character of solemn and depth in Du’s Poems,the other is that the link between that tendency and the peculiarity of history of poetry.Du’s concept of time also has a strong relationship with this tendency and it surely deserves a full chapter.It will be discussed in Chapter 3.The hobby of recall things leads to his sober concept of time.What’s more,this style of concept also has an effect on the tendency of recall in Du’s Poems.This sober concept of time is one of the three main styles in ancient Chinese poems,the other two were represented by Li Po and Su Shi.Finally,we may need to pay attention on the study of effect.There was a famous poet named Bai Juyi who also had the same tendency in his poem.The last chapter will mainly on this topic.
