This artile is mainly based on the female names written in Sui and Tang Dynasty,combining the hand-down literatures to classified analysis the female names in Sui,then comb and explore the phenomenon that can reflect the social culture and value tendency in naming.Sui Dynasty female name mainly reflected in three aspects:Fristly,female names contain social ideal expectations about women in Sui Dynasty.Those ideal expectations concluse the specification of women's moral character,the dreams of the women's rich life and knowledge,they are also the ideal female image that society strive to depict in Sui Dynasty.Culture of Confucianism and thought of Filial Piety bacome a guider when it implements in the Sui Dynasty,the main concept of women's ethical and moral norms,family education also promoted the progress of being a social ideal role.Secondly,secular concept is reflected in female names in Sui Dynasty.There exists the words like female popular names,perfer boys over girls,flowers and jades,good looks and so on in female names,they are all the secular concept in Sui Dynasty,and they are also the cognitive psychology of female in general public.Thirdly,female names contain obvious color of Buddhism.Sui dynasty was the golden age of Buddhism booming.Not only royal families but also ordinary people were addicetd in naming in Buddhism words.So we can see the influence that religious had in language,culture and religion.Measures taken by the emperors,translation of buddhist scriptures,family belifs and special fate were the reason why so many women choice Buddhism vocabularies as names.Female names have some common characteristic with before and later ages,and have made for new names in a specified period,opened some new fashion in naming for Tang and Song Dynasty.
