An Exemplified Analysis Of The Perception Of The Composition Of The Picture In Arnheim's Perception Theory

Rudolf Arnheim believed visual sense should be logical and paintings themselves have expressiveness.His research result has a great effect on theories and practices of the art of painting.Gestalt psychology of art from Rudolf Arnheim was built based experimental modern psychology.He believed consciousness is fundamental of art thought.Therefore,he proposed the theory of “force”,which mentioned the structure of force is the basis of artistic expression.Arnheim classified the artistic form of combination of visual sense and consciousness into: balance,shape,mode,evolution,space,light,color,motion,tension,performance.He analyzed the effectiveness of visual sense from different aspects.The research result of Arnheim helped people to use psychology to enjoy and analysis artistic masterpieces,which has a big effluence to the view of aesthetics around the world.In that case,whether above aesthetics of Arnheim can help composition of a picture by using the theory of visual sense and consciousness or not.This essay aims to search for the “force” in the balance mode from aesthetics of Arnheim and utilize it into personal graduation project.
