Research On The Image Characteristics Of "trees" In Landscape Paintings Of The Song Dynasty

Trees are an important part of picture composition,and their style changes and graphic characteristics can provide a unique perspective for us to study the history of art.The changes in tree images of the Song Dynasty and the implication of these features can give us a new understanding of the paintings of the Song Dynasty.This paper mainly consists of four parts.Part one analyzes "tree" image features before the Song Dynasty.From the early period to the Tang Dynasty,the expression forms of trees gradually changed.By analyzing these changes,we can have a more systematic perception of tree images of the Song Dynasty;Part two mainly discusses the changes of "tree" image characteristics from the Northern Song Dynasty to the Southern Song Dynasty;Part three illustrates several main kinds of "tree" schemas of the Song Dynasty;The final part focuses on the functions and implications of tree images of the Song Dynasty in painting,with persuasive examples.To sum up,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis and exploration of tree image characteristics of the Song Dynasty,both from the vertical perspective of historical time and the horizontal perspective of self change.And meanwhile by understanding the tree images we can appreciate the subtlety of the Song Dynasty paintings.
