Research On The Status Of Aged Care Services For The Elderly In The Community Of Guiyang

Guiyang,as a city with intense aging population and serious problem of young labor flux,has the problem of supporting old people which attracts extensive attention from the government and all sectors of society.Recently,the family supporting pattern in the traditional sense cannot meet the diversified living needs of old people in modern times any more.While the implementation of social service system for the old in Guiyang was relatively late,and the development of the service for the elderly provided by institution is not perfect;therefore,community service for the elderly will become an inevitable choice to solve the problem of service for the elderly in Guiyang at present.Under such background,from the perspective of the demand and supply of the community service for the in-home elderly,this paper discusses the community service for the elderly in Guiyang.Combining with the advantages of resources in various aspects like family,community and government and the experience of developed countries,and to accelerate the development of community service for the elderly in Guiyang,this paper put forwards relevant suggestions.To collect information by the methods like questionnaire and field interview,this paper is designed mainly based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs.From the collected data,in the aspect of demands,the elderly generally has four demands,which include economic security demand,daily care demand,medical treatment and health demand and spiritual and cultural life demand.These influence factors cover the factors about elderly like personal feature,children's characters,social insurance and welfare and housing conditions.Based on the regression analysis of various demands of service for the elderly,the author finds:(1)the following factors have significant influence on elderly's demand of economic security including the age of elderly,the number of children,working condition,job nature,physical condition,endowment insurance for urban residents and poverty assistance for the elderly;(2)the following factors have significant influence on the elderly's demand of daily care including the gender of the elderly,physical condition,children's occupation,whether children going to other places,neighborhood relationship and the mode of living;(3)the following factors have significant influence on the elderly's demand of medical treatment and health including the age of the elderly,physical condition,economic pressure,mode of living,poverty assistance;(4)the following factors have significant influence on the elderly's demand of spiritual and cultural life including the gender of the elderly,marital status,education background,pressure on medical treatment and health,children's occupation,mode of living,living area,whether being respected.In the aspect of the supply and demand of community service for the elderly in Guiyang,from the data collected,it is obvious that community does not provide enough service for elderly in the aspects like daily care,medical treatment and health and spiritual and cultural life.The problems like simple service content,insufficient supply of auxiliary facilities,unsatisfactory service quality of community workers creates the enormous gap between the elderly's demand for service and supply.Finally based on the analysis of the reasons of the difference between the demand and supply of community service for the elderly,the author finds that the main reasons for the imbalance between supply and demand of community service for the elderly include the unbalance between supply and demand,the insufficiency of the facilities for the elderly in community,the lack of communication between community workers and the elderly and the factors restrict the supply of community service for the elderly.From the aspects like the content of community service,capital raising,the establishment of service team and the improvement of information construction,combining with the relevant experience in community service for the elderly in developed countries,this paper put forwards corresponding suggestions to solve the problem of the imbalance between supply and demand of community service for the elderly in Guiyang:(1)based on the elderly's needs,scientifically improve the content of service for the elderly;(2)raise capital for community service for the elderly by multiple channels;(3)accelerate the constriction of the professionalization of the team providing community service for the elderly;(4)reinforce information construction and improve the network for community service for the elderly.
