The United States Studies The Custody Of Micronesia

International trust was one of the means of "decolonization" which was advocated by the United Nation. The trust territory of Micronesia was managed by the US,which was also the only strategic trust territory in the 11 pieces of territories.This thesis mainly introduces the process of US managing to Micronesia and analyzes its effect and essence.Firstly,this thesis introduces the background of American managed to Micronesia,that was the strategic value of Micronesia which was critical to America's security interests.Secondly, from three stages which including early period, policy adjustment period, the negotiations and termination stage to clarify the process of trusteeship.America adjusted the trusteeship policy, but fundamental starting point was constant, that was to making Micronesia established lasting contact with the United States to maintain its security interests.In the final,this thesis mainly analyzes the influences and effects of American rule to Micronesia.Although,to a certain extent, trusteeship made Micronesia achieving autonomous and establishing a sovereign state, but this kind of autonomy was based on the American 's economic aid and military defense.Therefore, this thesis argues that the American 's trusteeship to Micronesia is a "decolonization" means on the surface,but actually, Micronesia still have to rely on the United States, trusteeship and therefore become a disguised form of colonialism...
