The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan have a very important location, it's known as the "crossroads of Asia. "The essence of the Afghan construction is the construction of the nation-state. Afghanistan has many nationalities and most of them are cross-border nationality.Due to the complex situation and special location of the Afghanistan, the conflicts among the domestic warlords, tribes, nationalities, religions are very serious.There are many issues in Afghan non-traditional security field and also, extreme powers are becoming stronger than before.All the issues above penetrate to its neighboring countries continuously.With the withdrawing of American troops, the external assistance to Afghanistan reduced on a large scale.Therefore,there is no doubt that the nation-state building are becoming more difficult.The nationality and religion in Afghanistan are very important two elements in the process of the nation-state building,they are really worth to be discussed.The thesis contains four chapters,they are including introduction,main body and conclusion.The first chapter is introduction,it contains the origin and meaning of the research,literature review,the main content,research approach,new ideas about the research,the definition of the related concepts.The second chapter review the history of state building in Afghanistan.The establishment of the Durrani Empire means the beginning of the state building,the revolution in 1978 4th means the disintegration of the state building,the "911" event means the restart of the state building.Through the review,we can clearly see that Afghanistan has a strong independence on other countries,especially those western countries,which are lead by the U.S.Meanwhile,the pace of the state building are the same as the modernization of the country.The third chapter analysis the Afghan nationalities,it includes the overview and the features of the nationalities,the process and mode of Afghan nation building.Then the author makes a conclusion that it's not a suitable way to adopt the western countries' mode in Afghanistan.Meanwhile, It's totally unrealistic to make Afghanistan have single nation or have pluralistic nationalities which are not unified.Only focus on the pure secular regime and ignore the Islamic function is also impracticable.The Afghanistan should adopt the way which accord with its domestic and special situation.The fourth chapter analysis the Afghan religion,it includes the overview of Afghan religion,the history about the relationship between the Afghanistan and its domestic religion,the Taliban's influence on Afghan state building and the existing religious issues in Afghanistan.The author makes a conclusion that the religion is one of the foundation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,it should be combined with tribes and nations so that the Islam belief can play a positive role in the process of the state building.At last,the author makes an conclusion and overview.All in all,the thesis is based on the nationalities and religion in Afghanistan,and analysis their function in the process of the state building in Afghanistan from anthropology's perspective.As a very important country in the propose of the "One Belt and One Road",Afghanistan has shown its great zeal on this propose.However,the turbulent situation in Afghanistan will surely bring about many unexpected negative problems,which will make a very awful influence on central Asia and the Xinjiang province of China as well as its other neighboring countries. Therefore,the countries which around the Afghanistan should undertake their international duty as much as possible.To be more specific,they should provide assistance to Afghanistan to help it finish its transition among politics,economy and security.Only after the Afghan domestic situation have been improved,the goal of the "One Belt and One Road" can be accessible.
