Research On The "Documentation" Magazine In Shanghai's Isolated Islands

With the Kuomintang troops withdrawing to the west on November 12,1937,the“isolated island” comes into being formally,numbers of modern literary scholars moved inside,Shanghai isn't the literature center any longer like prewar.However,armed resistance requires the mobilization of the people,thus under the guidance of the communist party,established in October 1938,the magazine“Documents” was Published for the need of the “anti-Japanese and national salvation”trend of the times and the occupied Shanghai's social environment.It was run by one of the underground members of Chinese Communist Party who named A Ying.The magazine upholded national interests and adhered to the propaganda of the anti-Japanese aggression.Its aim was to unite the nation against Japanese aggression and serviced the people who lived in the occupied Shanghai.The magazine Documents' s theme was to communicate the information of the anti-Japanese war and to propagate the Patriotic education and to inspire the people and to denounce traitors and so on.Thus it had had a positive contribution for the final victory of the anti-Japanese war by united the people against the Japanese aggression and inspire the morale of the troops.However the current academic circles had not pay enough attention to this magazine,almost none had done this research,seldom papers made mention of this magazine,even in the research dissertations of A Ying.At present,Its related research achievements mainly has the following aspects:Firstly,in the general study of the anti-Japanese progress press,some scholars mention Documents with few words.Secondly,in the study of A Ying's revolutionary literature and art activities,especially during the “isolated island” period,these papers provide a certain information about A Ying how to establish this magazine.Thirdly,some literary dissertation refer to some articles published in the Documents.From the media ecology perspective,the dissertation studies and analyzes this magazine systematically by using the theory and methods of ideological history and mass communications,through the analysis of the background,the development,the text,the theme,the function and the effect of Documents.
