Military diplomacy is an important part of the overall diplomacy of the country. It is also the embodiment of national defense policy in foreign relations, and is committed to the maintenance and expansion of national interests with diplomacy at the political, economic and cultural levels. The Obama administration has made great efforts to develop military relationship with Southeast Asian countries by conducting international military exchanges with Southeast Asian countries, conducting joint military exercises, expanding overseas military facilities, providing military assistance, developing military trade and non-traditional security cooperation and humanitarian relief. The Obama administration's diplomatic military efforts are closely related to the changes in the strength of China and the United States and the US "Asia-Pacific rebalancing" strategy. The regional contradictions and hotspots continue to heat up,the adjustment of the new US military strategy and the security needs of the Southeast Asian countries also played an important role.Military diplomacy is always in close contact with the country's overall diplomatic and regional security situation. The Obama administration's military diplomacy in Southeast Asia, despite its remarkable achievements, has increased regional instability and concealed constraints.
