After World War II,Japan's political party system experienced a transition from the “5th Five-Year System” to the “1993 System” to the joint governing system. What causes the transformation of the Japanese political party system? Some scholars attribute it to social causes(changes in social structure),some scholars attributed it to economic factors, some scholars attributed it to political factors(Japanese bureaucratic politics),and scholars from the perspective of political culture or from The Origin of the Ruling Party and the Opposition Party 's Characteristics to Study the Causes of the Transformation of the Japanese Party System. This article mainly analyzes the influence of the changes in the structure of the middle class on the transformation of the party system in Japan, and studies the connection and characteristics between the change of the middle class in Japan and the transformation of the party system in Japan. The full text is divided into five chapters: The first chapter, the main introduction, introduces the research background and significance, research status at home and abroad, research methods, the paper's innovation and deficiencies. The second chapter, the definition of the core concepts and the summary of the middle class theory. The third chapter mainly analyzes the reasons for the emergence and disintegration of Japan's "5th Five-Year System" after the Second World War,and briefly introduces and analyzes the change and development trend of Japan's political party system after 1993.Chapter IV mainly introduces the number, internal structure, and political tendencies of the post-war Japanese middle class, and on this basis analyzes how the Japanese middle class influences the transformation of the Japanese party system.Chapter V analyzes the differences between the Japanese traditional middle class and the new generation of the middle class from the aspects of occupation and political opinions, and then discusses the influence of the rise of the new generation of middle class on the transformation of the Japanese party system. This article believes that the transformation of Japan's political party system is the result of a combination of related factors in the long-term development process.Among them, the middle class in Japan has played an important role. The rapid development of Japan ' s post-war economy has brought about the upgrading ofindustries and the disintegration of social structure. As a result, the Japanese middle-class team has grown. They have influenced the decision-making and political intent of political parties through elections, voting and other political participation methods, and have promoted the ruling party's alternately.Of course, because of the two-sidedness of the political characteristics of the Japanese middle class, their political inclinations have also changed at different times. In the early postwar period, the Japanese middle class generally favored political innovation. After entering the1960 s and the 1970 s,it tended to be politically conservative. This change has had an important impact on the transformation of the Japanese party system. After entering the 21 st century, although the new generation of middle class in Japan tends to be conservative and indifferent politically, their tendency of political consciousness is not so extreme, which helps maintain the party system dominated by the right-wing Liberal Democratic Party. This will be more conducive to the development of Japan's political and social stability and,in turn,to the relaxation of Sino-Japanese relations.
