Research On The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Physical Education Option Courses In Colleges And Universities In Qingdao City

With the continuous reform and innovation of college physical education, all colleges and universities adhered to the "health first, people-oriented" as the guiding ideology of teaching set up a variety of physical education curriculum for college student combing with the actual situation in the schools, of which optional sports course was the most extensive lesson. Students can choose class time, teachers and sport projection dependently, known as "three independent" which has been took as the main mode o f physical education in most colleges and universities. Therefore, investigation and analysis on the status of elective sports course not only can further accelerate the reform of college physical education and improve the existing model, but also play practical significance and role in improving students' physical ability and lifelong physical activity habits and personality development.In this study, elective sports courses in five universities in Q ingdao(Q ingdao University of Science and Technology, Q ingdao Agricultural University, Q ingdao University, C hina University of Petroleum, China Ocean University) were selected for the survey.Questionnaires were delivered to 120 teachers and 800 students of elective classes randomly in colleges of Q ingdao city. Interviews, questionnaires, literature and other methods were used to analysis the student factors, teacher factors, teaching factors systemically, identified the main factor that constrained the development sports course in regular institutions of higher learning in Q ingdao. Countermeasures to solve the problem were given finally. The research results show that:1. Most students think they know little about optional courses though they like the optional course of physical education. When making their choice, the majority can choose what they need after careful thinking. It is the primary motive for students to choose physical education so as to know physical exercise methods and master healthcare methods based on their specialties and interests. The teaching faculties are becoming younger, mostly of bachelor degree and lecturer title. Over 15 courses of physical education are provided in universities and colleges, which provides a wider range of options for students. The teachers still give priority to the traditional teaching methods, with very few modern methods involved. There has not been a unified examination mode. There are sufficient venues and facilities for traditional sports.2. At present, five main problem occurred in elective sports courses of Q ingdao city colleges. Firstly, students did not understand the courses thoroughly because of a lack of the necessary pre-course guidance, which leading the students to select the courses blindly. Secondly, there were certain differences between the students' physical needs and the project of college. Thirdly, stadiums and facilities could not meet the needs of students in the project. Fourthly, teacher's allocation was not reason able in elective classes Finally, evaluation system of elective sports course was not perfect.3. Following measures were urgently asked to deal with the problems above, an emphasis on management of elective sports course, which could guide students to make the correct option; build multiple evaluation methods and standards in order to build a scientific evaluation system; development and use of venues and facilities effectively, at the same time,allocate sports projects rationally; strengthen the construction of teachers, cultivating the compound type of teachers; achieve compulsory course selected freedom and carry out after-school sports clubs actively.
