This study in the use of the questionnaire of special education school for ninth-grade mental retardation students' parents were investigated,data were collected at the same time using self-made interview outline for special education teachers were interviewed,in the understanding of ninth-grade students life adaptive ability based on C hina special education school for students with mental retardation ninth-grade students and parents on transition education demand,promote special education school for ninth-grade students with mental retardation turn transition education process,ready for graduates from school life transition to adult life.Through to Dalian special education school of ninth-grade students life adaptive ability present situatio n analysis and found that ninth-grade students in home living,social skills,community use,self-direction,safety and health,leisure and entertainment six aspects showed different characteristics,the performance of the different types of barriers is different,the same types of barriers,the performance of different degree of barriers is different.From ninth-grade students overall ability of life adaptive level,in the use of community and self-direction two aspects is relatively poor.From the point of view of the degree of disorder,the level of the students with mild mental retardation was significantly higher than that of moderate mental retardation students.This shows that ninth-grade students with intellectual disabilities life adaptive abilit y level and degree of disorder,the degree of disorder more light,life adaptive ability level is high;on the contrary,it is low.From the point of view of the disorder,mental retarded ninth-grade students' life adaptive ability is different,mentally retarded of ninth-grade students in the home living,social skills and self –direction are better than autism graduates.Through investigation of education demand of parents of students in ninth-grade of the special education school,the parents of the st udents with special need think employment skills and home living skills are very importation in the necessary skills;providing education,employment and transition services is parents expect special students by learning life transition to adult life the most important two requirements in the field.According to the special education school ninth-grade students life adaptive ability of research results,combining with the teachers in the schools for the mentally retarded to ninth-grade students turn transition education knowledge and understanding for special education school of ninth-grade students,then find existing problems and deficiencies and put forward the following suggestions : the government purchase of public services,create employment opportunities for ninth-grade students with special need.special education schools strengthen the students' life skills and vocational education training.parents of ninth-grade students with special need strengthen the special student home living skills education.school,community and family resources of unity and utilization.do career planning preparation for ninth-grade students with special need.
