Social Study education originated in the United States,and has been developing for over 100 years in the United States.By 1994,the United States National Council for the Social studies published Curriculum standards for Social Studies:Expectations of Excellence,and Social Studies education has matured in America.All of the states in Unites formulated their own Curriculum standards for Social Studies based on the National Curriculum standards for Social Studies.As one of major states whose education has developed in the United States,New York is in the leading position in Educational theory and Educational practice.The New York State Education Department established Learning Standards for Social Studies(1996),Economics,the Enterprise System,and Finance(2002)and Participation in Government(2002).Entering the new century,New York State Education Department have successively formulated "New York State K-12 social Studies Framework(2014)" "New York State K-8 Social Studies Framework(2015)" "New York State9-12 Social Studies Framework(2015)",and completed to revise these three files finally in January 2017.Taking the New York State Social Studies Framework as the theoretical and material basis,this paper will study the characteristics of the historical content standards in the New York State Social Studies Framework,and put forward corresponding suggestions for our historical education.This paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,and mainly explain the topic selection basis and research value,research review,research contents,research ideas and methods and the main innovation of this paper.The second chapter study the background and structure of New York State Social Studies curriculum as well as the historical section of the New York State Social Studies Framework.The main contents include the background,the curriculum structure,and the 10 major theme axes of New York State Social Studies curriculum,the formulation and introduction of New York State Social Studies Framework,and the historical content distribution in the framework.The third chapter studies the history content standards of the New York State Social Studies Framework,and mainly includes the historical content system and the characteristics of historical content of the New York State Social Studies Framework,focusing on the three characteristics of historical content standard.There are three characteristics ofthe history content in the New York State Social Studies: Paying attention to the study of American history,history and geography being closely linked,closely related to the10 thematic axes of New York State Social Studies.The fourth chapter is an analysis of the enlightenment and inadequacies of the historical content standard of the New York State Social Studies Framework.The historical content of the New York State Social Studies Framework,paying to the cultivation of students' global vision and the civic education of students,is worth learning.
