Vocational-maturity is considered as a scale of representing how well a person has prepared for his/her life and career,as well as for the choice of his/her career,those who have higher vocational maturity are tend to make wiser choices when it comes to make decisions which are related to their occupation.As the reform of the college entrance exam going,a senior high student has to face the choice of the subject which they will additionally study besides the three major subjects.Therefore,it is a top priority to enhance the training of how to choose one's occupation in the high school.In this study,117 senior one students was selected in one senior high school randomly as the experimental group and the control group.Through the applying of self-editing textbook,the students in the experimental group were consulted and intervened while the control group received none of the above.Then the <Questionnaire of Middle school students' occupational maturity >was conducted both in the experimental group and the control one.Base on the statistical analysis and discussion of quantitative data,the important factors affecting the development of senior high school students' professional maturity are discussed through interviews.These factors include environmental factors(society,family,school)and individual factors(performance,intelligence quotient),etc.,which reconfirm the results of quantitative analysis.The study indicates that:(1)There is significant ascent of the students' career maturity level among the students in the experimental group,as well as the massive improvement of their test results on dimensions such as initiation,indepe ndence,confidence,outward knowledge of career and inward knowledge of career.(2)As for the test results on dimension of the stability among the control group,a significant descent was detected.Either significant differences were seen on other dimensions or on career maturity level.(3)The development of high school students' career maturity is strongly effected by the surroundings,and it turns out to be not systematic and not sufficient,and the relationship of these two factors are restricted by ea ch other,while professional methods such as group consultant is significantly demanded.
