"澎湃News" Character Report Characteristics Research

News report can’t do without characters which is the most living element, while character report is one of the most important news forms that news report always focused on. The Paper has been paid close attention to which lots of money has been put in and all of the editors and journalists are from the traditional media as the transitioned news media programme from Oriental Morning Post. Therefore this thesis is taken the’The Paper’s Character’column as a perspective. In this column character report is the main part and also is the latest samples to research its traits and developments in new media.There are 424 samples in this paper from March 31,2014 to November 23,2015. The main idea of this article is to make conclusions on discourse structures, news sources, image shaping and some other features according to data analysis, content analysis on the ’The Paper’s Character’ column. As a result, this kind of classification correspond with Van Dick’s ’discourse analysis’ theory. Since then, this research take the theory as guidance.Following the thought of discourse analysis, the macro part of this article have three perspectives:selection of the people, requirement of the interview, traits of the news discourse, while the micro part wil be contrasted with the traditional media in six perspectives:news title, news schema, character shaping, stereotype images, six kinds of news interprations from the netizen. At last, the final goal of the paper is to conclude the breakingthrough and shortcomings of The Paper’s Character of The Paper to provide suggestions on character reports during the new period.
