With the development of society and technology,the museum as a social and cultural institution, its function is no longer just limited to the collection, protection,research, its service function, especially the function of education is being highlighted and gets more and more attention.This research takes the perspective of children’s education,along with the clue of who holds children’s education activities practically,,the Nanjing Museum becomes the object of this research finally.Through methods such as observation and interview, materials were gathered,and on the basis of these materials,the research presents the features, problems, problem solving strategy and researcher’s thinking about the children’s education activities of Nanjing Museum. In hope of the children can gain more attention in museum and have a try on exploring more possibilities of children’s education in museum. This research mainly discusses from four parts:Firstly, the paper expounds the research question, research significance, and the related research literature are reviewed.Then the design of this study is presented,including the research purpose, content, method, and the core concepts are defined.Secondly, the evolution from museum to museum’s children activities was been summarized at first.then,the researcher gives some descriptions about the current situation of Nanjing Museum’s children activities, and summarizes some feathers,such as that almost all these activities are based on exhibition resources, the field involved of activities is given priority to arts and humanities, direct visit is the main method of activities,etc.Once again,based on the understanding of the present situation of children’s education activities of Nanjing Museum and through in-depth analysis,the researcher take out the existing problems and deficiencies of children’s education activities,and the suggestions for improvement are given from the aspects of theory and practice.Finally,the part of discussion and prospect. In the comparison of the museum education and school education, four aspects "what", "whyn" "how"and "affect" have carried in the part of discussion and reflection. And the more possibilities of museum education and school education were tried to be explored.
