Sino-Japanese Intra-industry Trade And Its Influencing Factors

since 1960 s,with the further development of international trade,the new trade mode that a country both imports and exports similar products gradually come into being.more and more scholars began to focus on this new trade mode, and gradually developed a theory of intra-industry trade.As two most important East Asian economies--China and Japan, developing intra-industry trade has a significant role for the advancement of foreign trade for two countries.However,the current intra-industry trade research more concentrates on intra-industry trade among developed countries,while there is less attention to the study of the intra-industry trade between developed countries and developing countries.This thesis has discussed Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade in order to offer practical political suggestions and enrich the study of the intra-industry trade between developed countries and developing countries.Firstly, this thesis explained the main intra-industry trade theory and the methods to measure the level of intra-industry trade in detail.Then,it calculated the general level of Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade.The result showed that Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade has reached a higher level, the trade model gradually has transferred from inter-industry trade to intra-industry trade. The volume of Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade grew rapidly. The proportion of the intra-industry volume of industrial product has reached 98 percent.Secondly, the thesis used GHM classification method and marginal intra-industry trade index to analyze the types and dynamic development characters of Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade.The result showed that the type of Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade is mainly vertical intra-industry trade based on factor endowment difference. From the viewpoint of dynamic development character, Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade increment is mainly intra-industry trade increment, especially capital and technology intensive product.Finally,this thesis use Eviews 6.0 software to put the influencing factor of Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade into empirical study.The result revealed that technology development、Japanese direct investment and Sino-Japanese per capitaincome difference are main influencing factor of Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade.Then, this thesis came up with political suggestions to promote Sino-Japanese intra-industry trade.These suggestions are promoting enterprises innovate and industries upgrade,increasing the r&d of products;Secondly,actively introducing and Japanese investment to China,improving the quality of the actual use of foreign capital;thirdly,promoting enterprise concentration and industrial cluster, giving play to the economies of scale;fourthly,improving the income of urban and rural residents,boosting reasonable distribution of national income.
