Female Financial Controllers And Budgetary Slack

As the proportion of female executives raising and their important role in corporate management,we focus on what the female executives effect corporate performance and corporate governance.However,these studies fasten on corporate performance,corporate governance and business ethics,less involved management accounting.With budget management using widely in practice,agency theory and performance evaluation based on budget,budgetary slack attract our attention.This paper empirically examines the data of Chinese listed firms from 2011 to 2013,the results shows that compare to the male financial controllers,female financial controllers tend to budgetary slack,and this tendency is more evident in state-owned enterprises,and with the stake of the largest shareholder raising.We analyze the reason of the results in this paper,we also suggest that we should combine the practice and the theory to suppress budgetary slack effectively.
