The Study On Competitive Strategy Of PX Company For UN Procurement Tender

In recent years,Chinese economic growth continues to slow down on the background of global economic downturn.Once as an important driving force of Chinese economic growth,export trade was faced with a decrease in the end of 2015.Domestic enterprises,especially export-oriented enterprises are under enormous pressure and challenges.Compared with the downturn of external demand,United Nations headquarters and affiliated organizations have a huge demand for purchasing products and services every year and hold open tenders to suppliers all over the world.UN's fair tendering procedures,good reputation and increasing demand each year,are attracting more and more suppliers involved.However United Nations' procurement tenders are also huge challenges considering its particularity and rigor.Chinese suppliers need to improve their competitiveness urgently.This study firstly analysis the details of UN's procurement tendering process and features.On the base of competitive strategy theory and domestic industry-leading company PX's case,this study using SWOT analysis to analyze PX's internal and external environments.After that,this study divides PX's main products into four categories according to market share and future growth using Boston matrix analysis.Besides,this study makes a summary of PX's business processes.Based on above analysis,the study establishes company's competitive strategies from five elements of theory: resetting of goals,developing of market/product elements,improvement of organizational/cultural elements,consolidation and strengthening of corporate resources,promotion of operational capabilities.And this study puts forward specific measures for the implementation of the strategy.These strategies can not only increase success rate in the field of UN tenders for PX company,but also enhance company's overall competitiveness,strengthen advantages,make up for weaknesses,seize opportunities and avoid threats.And the introduction and analysis methods in this study can improve the overall level of Chinese enterprises to participate in United Nations procurement and make Chinese suppliers occupy more market share in this field.
