The level of gender wage difference isn't obvious based on the centralized-control empl-oyment system and wage system in China in the era of planned economy.Nevertheless,the d-ifference is growing clear with the reform and opening up policy,which made the equalitarianism in planned economy replaced by the efficiency priority of market economy.At the same time,China's gender wage difference began to increase gradually.If we can solve the problem of gender wage difference effectively,we can not only allev-iate the problem of the lack of labor force caused by the gradual disappearance of Chinese Demographic Dividend,but also give full play to the power of women,which partly guarante e the steady growth of Chinese economy.With the China Nutrition Health database(2011)and the influence factors related to the problem of gender wage difference,this paper utilizes the mean decomposition and the hierarchical decomposition with the Propensity Score Matching analysis method,which is based on the anti-fact analysis framework,to provide a more comprehensive understanding of China's urban areas of labor and gender differences in the latest trends.The results of this paper show that there were wage differences caused by gender overall.Under the condition of individual heterogeneity being controlled,males surpassed women by 2.97 yuan per hour;hierarchical decomposition results show that with the rise in income levels,gender wage difference gradually narrowed from the bottom income groups' 0.31 yuan per hour to the middle and upper income groups' 0.25 yuan per hour and the top income group differences were not significant;the income level of male and female distribution is uneven,women were more engaged in low level income work,resulting in the amplification of wage differences on overall levels.According to the research results and the experience of advanced countries,this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions:First,government departments should improve the legislative system,legal protection system,infrastructure construction and guide the change of public opinion;Second,enterprises should actively implement the relevant policies and regulations;what's more,women groups should increase the investment on themselves and strengthen their ability to negotiate in the market.
