Total Factor Productivity Shifts And Influential Mechanisms For 'The Belt And Road' Countries

At present,China's economy continued downward,has entered the economy,the new normal for external resources,strengthen economic cooperation with foreign countries,the main way to promote economic restructuring and development.To this end,Chinese government put forward the strategic concept of 'the Belt and Road',whose purpose is to promote its own growth and external economies.And how to realize the coordinated growth of the national economy along the line.Only by proceeding from the basic situation of the economic development of the countries along the line,we will realize the common development of the economy of the countries along the line.The core index of economic development is the total factor productivity,therefore,has important practical significance of TFP and its effect on 'the Belt and Road' countries.The multinational country we use panel data of 1995-2014,the first measure and explore the factors influencing TFP and its 'the Belt and Road' countries.Through theoretical analysis and empirical research,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)During the sample period,the average annual TFP of each country decreased by 0.3%.Among them,the technical progress decreased by 3.3%,the scale efficiency increased by 1.9%,the pure technical efficiency increased by 1.3%.(2)Government behavior is positively correlated with TFP.Trade can boost TFP growth in Asia,but not Europe.Industrialization has promoted the TFP of Europe,but it has no effect on Asia.Information only enhance the Asian TFP.Innovation has a significant negative impact on Asia and has a significant role in promoting Europe.Health care has a role to play in Europe and Asia.The level of economic development in Europe,but not to promote Asia.Urbanization is positively correlated with TFP in Asia and negatively related to Europe.(3)There are differences in the mechanism of action of various factors on TFP.The government behavior has the promotion to the Asian and European technical progress,has the inhibitory effect to the scale efficiency,moreover the Asian government behavior has the positive function to the pure technical efficiency,reduced the European pure technical efficiency.Trade in Asian countries has a positive effect on both of the three,but European trade has increased only pure technical efficiency.Industrialization can improve the scale efficiency of Asia,reduce technical progress and pure technical efficiency,improve the technological progress and technical efficiency,and reduce the scale efficiency.Information technology has played an important role in promoting the pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of Asia,and has promoted the pure technical efficiency in Europe.Through the promotion of technological progress,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency to achieve the total factor productivity in Europe,but only to promote the pure technical efficiency of Asia.Health care can effectively promote the improvement of pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency.The level of economic development is positively related to the technological progress of Asia and Europe,but also with the pure technical efficiency of Asian countries.Urbanization has a positive effect on technological progress in Asia and pure technical efficiency in Europe.Financial support is of positive significance to the technological progress of Asian and European countries,but also to promote the pure technical efficiency of Europe.
