Research On The Measurement Of Transaction Costs Of Commercial Banks

Since the birth of the theory of transaction cost,after decades of development,in the efforts of many new institutional economists have established a more complete analysis framework.The transaction cost has brought about the rise of the new institutional economics,which has strong explanatory power to many economic problems,and has important application value in the field of institutional change theory and enterprise theory.In previous studies,many scholars,such as North and Wallis,have done some research on the measurement of transaction costs,trying to provide theoretical basis for the theory of data and theoretical models.But there is little research on the measurement of business transaction costs.Commercial banks as an important part of a country’s financial system,the operation and development of the stability and sustainability of the relationship between the real economy and even the entire national economy healthy,commercial banks to measure transaction costs and explore its application in improving the governance of commercial banks,has the important theory significance and practical significance.This paper based on the research of other scholars,trying to measure our country commercial bank transaction cost,transaction cost and from this point is the standard of evaluation system,the corporate governance of commercial banks and the relative transaction cost associated with research as the transaction cost should be.Specifically,first of all,based on the definition of commercial bank transaction costs,using the method of accounting measurement of commercial banks the absolute transaction cost and relative transaction cost;secondly,in the premise of corporate governance of commercial banks related research,selected the listed commercial bank as the data source,the specific test of corporate governance the index is how to affect the relative transaction cost.The conclusion is that: during the period of 2009-2015,the commercial bank’s absolute transaction cost is increasing,while the relative transaction cost first decreased and then showed a rising trend;commercial bank ownership concentration and executives annual salary and relative transaction cost significantly related,while the scale of the board and the proportion of independent directors has no significant impact on the level of transaction costs.Finally,according to the results of this study,the author puts forward some suggestions to reduce the transaction cost of China’s commercial banks.
