Research On Location Selection Of Foreign Direct Investment In Chinese Enterprises

With the rapid development of China's economy and the deepening of China's attendance of international division of labor,more and more Chinese enterprises have invested to overseas in response to our government's "Go Global"strategy.With its outward foreign direct investment(OFDI)reached $123.12 billion in 2014,China maintained its position as the third largest outward investor in the world for a third consecutive year,and the amount of China's OFDI is closed to the amount of FDI to China for the first time.As the location difference plays an important role in the process of the development of the world economy,different location choice can influence the enterprises' advantage,production plan and the benefit.So it is of great importance to make an analysis on the location choice of Chinese enterprises' foreign direct investment.The thesis first reviews the works about the location choice of FDI enterpri ses written by researchers around the world,then introduces the foreign direct i nvestment theories of developed and developing countries,including industrial to cation theory by Alfred Weber,industrial organization theory by Vernon,the ecle ctic theory of international production by Dunning,small scale technology theor y by Louis Wells,dynamic comparative advantage theory by Ozawa,etc.In additi on,the thesis combines the theories with the practical situation of outward FDI Chinese enterprises,then makes theoretical analysis to explain the situations whi ch the enterprises are in.At the end of chapter 2 I give 6 factors that influenc e Chinese enterprises' foreign direct investment and make assumptions on the r elationship between China's outward FDI destinations and the factors.In chapter 3.the thesis makes an econometrics model to do the empirical analysis on the ground of the data collected from the top 18 countries(regions)as destinations for China's outward FDI flows from 2009 to 2013 with the dependent variabl e:China's outward FDI amount,the independent variable:the trade amount,the di stance and the similarity of the culture between China and the host country,the GDP,corruption degree and index of economic freedom of the host country.Th en verify the assumptions I make in last chapter and give explainations to the m.What follows next is to reveal the rule of China's outward direct investment.In chapter 4 I make a researsh on the FDI behaviours of the 4 other "BRICS"countries,and compare them with China's.At last the thesis gets a conclusion and gives policy advices for the problems Chinese enterprises are confronted w ith from three aspects:the government,the investment promotion organazition an d the enterprises,Then make a forecast of China's outward foreign direct invest ment.
